Hi there!
I’m Donia, a full-time engineer and a part-time traveler. Based in Seattle, I work my regular job as a civil engineer and hike and travel on weekends and days off. I also love taking care of my plants and cooking dishes from around the world.
I was born and raised in Iran and moved to the U.S for my graduate studies. I have since lived in different cities and worked as a transportation engineer, while also hiking and traveling on the weekends and holidays. Moving to a new continent and adjusting to a new culture has given me unique perspectives on life and invaluable friendships that would not have been possible if I stayed in my comfort zone. I decided to settle in Seattle, because I found its breath-taking nature, great walkability and decent public transportation fitting my personality. (However, getting used to Seattle’s too many grey skies in winter is still a work in progress.)
I am your typical PNW person: I love coffee and I love the outdoors (except I still refuse to just dress up in yoga pants and rain jacket haha).
Moving to different states and countries with different cultures has made me feel at home in a new place and spread roots around the world rather than in a hometown.
